Growing Around

The Hunt Of The Sally

[The episode begins with Sally in the Master Bedroom. She’s coloring in her coloring books on the floor, and seems to be having a good time. All of a sudden, we hear Timmy’s voice coming from offscreen.]

Timmy: (offscreen) Sally! Sally, where are you!? It’s time for your bath!

[Sally’s head pops up, her eyes wide in terror. She head snaps in the direction of a wall, and the camera pans over to it. We see a calendar, and the camera does a close up on one day in particular. On this day are the words, “Bath Day!”, which are written in crayon and surrounded by sad faces, making it obvious that it was Sally who wrote it. A flash of lightning fills the room, accompanied by thunder, to add to the effect. We cut back to Sally, who looks around in a panic for someplace to hide. We cut to the Master Bedroom’s door. It opens and Timmy walks in.]

Timmy: Sally? You in here?

[Timmy looks around, but sees that there’s no Sally. A suspicious look forms on his face. He approaches the coloring book and crayons that are on the floor, and picks one of them up.]

Timmy: Hmm…still warm…She’s close by…

[In the background, we see Sally appear from behind the open door. She sneaks her way out of the room quietly, before breaking into a run and catching Timmy’s attention. Timmy looks behind him.]

Timmy: Hey!

[Timmy chases after Sally as the girl rushes downstairs. We suddenly cut to the backyard. Robert and Gumdrops are there playing fetch with a Frisbee. When Gumdrops brings back the Frisbee, she’s rewarded with a sugar cube. Suddenly, their game is interrupted when the patio door is opened. We cut to the patio door, and we see that it’s Sally, who looks around for a new hiding place. She then rushes past Robert and Gumdrops, and heads up into the treehouse. Robert and Gumdrops watch her, confused.]

Robert: (confused) Sally? What are you doing?

[Sally pokes her head out of the treehouse.]

Sally: [She puts a finger to her lips.] Shh! I’m hiding!

Robert: (confused) Why?

Sally: Because today’s Bath Day, and Timmy’s gonna make me bathe. I really don’t wanna bathe. [She points at Robert.] You can’t tell him I’m up here, got it?

Robert: But--

Sally: No “buts”! Now, if you tell Timmy where I am, you’re grounded for a month, ok?

Robert: [He sighs.] Ok.

[Sally disappears into the treehouse just as Timmy enters the backyard. He looks around, before approaching Robert and Gumdrops.]

Timmy: Hey, Robbie, did Sally come back here? She’s trying to avoid Bath Day again.

Robert: [He rubs the back of his neck.] Well, she kinda told me that if I told you where she was, I was grounded for a month.

Timmy: [He puts his hands on his hips.] (In a “no nonsense” tone) Well, old man, if you DON’T tell me where she is, I’ll ground you for TWO months.

[Robert looks unsure of what to do. Suddenly, Gumdrops nudges him, and gestures at herself, as if saying, “I’ve got this.” Gumdrops trots to the tree where the treehouse is and looks up at it like a pointer dog.]

Timmy: The treehouse, huh? [He cups his mouth with his hands.] (Loudly) Sally! I know you’re up there. Might as well come out.

[We hear Sally growl in annoyance, and she climbs down from the treehouse. When she gets to the ground, she points an accusatory finger at Robert.]

Sally: (angrily) You’re SO grounded!

Robert: Well, technically, Gumdrops gave you up, not me.

Timmy: He’s right.

[Sally pauses, and then growls again, realizing that they’re right. Gumdrops trots over to Robert and nudges him. Robert chuckles.]

Robert: Oh, alright. That was worthy of a sugar cube. Good girl.

[Robert rewards the pony with another sugar cube. Sally attempts to run back inside, but Timmy grabs her arm.]

Timmy: Stop running, Sally. Do we have to do this every month?

Sally: [She tries to pull away.] I don’t wanna take a bath! They’re no fun!

Timmy: (annoyed) Sally, I don’t like baths much either, but it’s better than being smelly. Come on; it’ll be over quick, I promise.

Sally: (stubbornly) No! I’m putting my foot down. I’m not taking a bath, and you can’t make me!

[Sally snaps at Timmy’s hand, causing him to pull away. She then runs away. Timmy sighs and looks very serious.]

Timmy: (seriously) I was afraid it would come to this…

[We cut to Robert.]

Robert: (confused) Come to what?

Timmy: Sally’s not going to come to the bath. So it looks like I’m going to have to bring the bath to Sally. [He turns to Robert.] Robert, take Gumdrops and go inside. Make sure Linda doesn’t go outside either. Things are gonna get wet.

[We suddenly cut to a short preparation montage. Timmy begins by equipping himself with a heavy duty belt capable of holding multiple things, as well as holsters so he can carry weapons on his back. Next, he goes to the bathroom, and fills some water guns with water and liquid soap. These guns he places in the back holsters. He fills balloons with water and soap as well, and puts them in the utility belt. He also grabs a bar of soap, which also goes in the belt. Then, Timmy gets his slingshot from the Master Bedroom. Finally, Timmy goes to the bunk bed, and pulls a package from beneath his pillow. The camera holds on his serious face. We then get a shot of the package. It reads, “Bath Bomb” and holds a single, spherical bath bomb in it. At the bottom of the package, in bold, red letters, “WARNING! THIS PACKS A HECK OF A PUNCH!” We cut back to Timmy, who sighs, and puts the bath bomb in the last part of his belt. When the montage is over, Timmy exits the house. Robert, Linda, and Gumdrops watch this from the living room. We then hear audio from the TV.]

TV: (audio) The fierce predator is now beginning his hunt.

[We cut to the TV, and see a prowling lion cub, who’s watching a young gazelle from some shrubs.]

TV: The prey he’s been looking to catch has been very elusive, always managing to get away. But the young predator is tenacious; he won’t stop until he catches her.

[The scene fades from a lion cub and a gazelle, to Timmy and Sally. Timmy’s in the shrubs that are in front of the house, while Sally’s in the open, looking around for Timmy. We continue hearing the narration from the TV.]

TV: (offscreen) It won’t be long before the predator attacks. He gets closer to raise his chances of success.

[Timmy crawls out of the shrubs, and crawls towards Sally slowly.]

TV: (offscreen) Everything seems to be going well for the little predator, before--

[Timmy crawls over a twig, and it snaps loudly. Sally turns with a startled gasp.]

TV: (offscreen) The prey has been startled! Quickly, she flees!

[Sally begins running away. Timmy scrambles to his feet and pulls out one of his water guns. Intense chase music begins to play.]

TV: (offscreen) The predator tries to attack anyway, desperate to catch his prey.

[Timmy runs after Sally, shooting at her. But Sally’s much faster, and more agile, so Timmy misses every time. The first water gun runs out of water, so Timmy switches to the second one. That one also runs out. Timmy’s also run out of breath. He falls to his knees and gasps for air as Sally escapes.]

TV: (offscreen) But alas, the prey escapes, leaving her pursuer in the dust. The predator won’t give up, however. When he regains his strength, he’ll try again.

[We cut to the next scene. We’re back in the living room, where the nature documentary’s still playing. We see the lion cub struggling to climb a tree, while we hear a narration.]

TV: The predator has managed to find his prey once again. But this time, he’s trying a new tactic.

[We fade to the backyard. Timmy is trying to climb a tree in the backyard, similar to the lion cub. He climbs up and hides among the branches, waiting in silence. Sally appears, and walks under the tree, not realizing Timmy’s there.]

TV: (offscreen) Ah! There’s the prey now, unwittingly approaching her pursuer. In just a matter of moments, he’ll launch a surprise attack.

[Timmy pulls out his slingshot, and one of his water balloons. He aims and fires.]

TV: (offscreen) He attacks! But, because of a miscalculation in his plan, he just barely misses!

[The water balloon barely misses Sally, and lands on the ground in front of her. Sally looks up, her eyes wide. She runs away.]

TV: (offscreen) Again, the prey flees! The predator attempts to catch her again!

[Timmy grabs his water balloons, one at a time, and launches them all at Sally, but she easily dodges them. Timmy crawls out along the branch he’s sitting on, for a closer shot. But he loses his balance, and with a cry, falls out of the tree. It isn’t a long fall, thankfully, and he lands on the ground in a comedic fashion. After he recuperates, he realizes that his water balloons have all popped because of the fall. He sighs.]

TV: (offscreen) Once again, the predator is unsuccessful.

[Timmy then pulls out the bath bomb, and stares at it.]

TV: (offscreen) The predator will try once more to catch his prey today. But this final attempt will be the most risky.

[We cut to the TV again. The antelope fawn is standing at.]

TV: At the moment, the prey has found herself at the water’s edge.

[We fade to Sally, who’s standing at a side of a large inflatable pool that’s filled with water. She scratches her head, looking confused.

Sally: Where’d this come from?

TV: (offscreen) She finds herself distracted by it.

[We cut to the roof of the Dunn house. Timmy is there, peering over the top of it.]

TV: (offscreen) In the distance, the young predator watches, waiting for his chance to strike once again.

[Timmy picks at some of the loose tile on the roof, causing it to fall off the roof and land on the ground below. We cut to Sally, who looks around, terrified. In her fear she steps into the pool. We cut to Timmy, who smiles.]

Timmy: Gotcha.

TV: (offscreen) Now’s his chance! The predator attacks once more!
[Timmy takes out his slingshot and aims the bath bomb. He fires. It doesn’t hit Sally, but instead, the water between her legs. Sally looks down at the bath bomb curiously.]

Sally: What the heck…?

[We cut to Timmy.]

Timmy: 3…2…1…

[We cut to back to Sally. The water changes to a vibrant color, and is starting to fizz. It gets more and more intense, until a large, colorful geyser occurs, sending Sally flying into the air in a cartoony fashion. When it finishes, Sally comes crashing down into the pool. She sits there, in a daze. We cut to Timmy.

Timmy: (victoriously) Yes!

TV: (offscreen) It seems that luck is finally on the side of the young predator. He now takes the chance to finally claim his prize.

[Timmy slides off the roof, and rushes at Sally. When he reaches her, he takes out his bar of soap and scrubs Sally down so much that bubbles cover the screen. After a moment, the bubbles clear away, and we see Timmy back away from Sally, gasping for breath. A clean and sparkly Sally holds her face in her hands and appears to be crying.]

TV: (offscreen) And with that…the young predator has won.

Timmy: (satisfied) There. All clean. Now you know what happens when you decide not to take a bath the easy way Sally. [He then notices Sally crying.] (Concerned) Sally? You ok?

Sally: [She looks up at Timmy and sniffles.] (Sadly) Is the game over already?

Timmy: (surprised) What?

Sally: That was the “funnest” bath I ever had. I wish it could’ve lasted a bit longer.

Timmy: You mean…you were having fun?

Sally: Yeah! We should do this more often; I’d actually like Bath Day then.

Timmy: Oh, well, ok then. [He smiles.] Next Bath Day, I’ll chase you again. To be honest, I had some fun too. Come on; let’s go inside and get you dried off.

[Sally and Timmy head back inside.]

Sally: Hey Timmy, where’d you even get that bath bomb from, anyway. That thing’s powerful.

Timmy: [He shrugs.] Eh…I know a guy…

[We cut to Timmy and Sally as they enter the house. We hear credits music coming from the living room, most likely from the nature documentary that just ended. Robert, Linda, and Gumdrops look at them.]

Robert: You finally caught her, eh, Timmy?

Timmy: (proudly) Yep. You could say I’m a natural-born predator.

Sally: Hey, speaking of predator, did YOU even take your bath yet, Timmy?

[Timmy’s eyes widen in realization.]

Timmy: (nervously) Uh…no?

[Sally slowly smirks at Timmy and pulls out a water gun from offscreen. Timmy gulps. The screen irises out to black.]

[The End]
This episode is basically my take on how kids would deal with bathtime in this world. Tell me what you think. :)

Pretty good. My one complaint is that Linda doesn't appear at all in this. Maybe she could just have a cameo while Timmy is chasing Sally.
